Here’s some good news about free gifts for all cooks! From now you will be able to accept gifts within Restaurant City. This mean you no longer need to use facebook requests to claim gifts.
Please note the following features of accepting gifts in the game:
- The same gift will appear in your facebook requests and in the game but you can only claim it once.
- If you accept gifts through facebook requests they will be removed from your in-game list.
- Unfortunately gifts you accept in the game cannot be removed from your facebook gift requests. You will not be able to claim these gifts.
- Finally – you will not receive an in-game mail confirming your accepted gifts. Gifts will be automatically added to your stored items.

Can you delete it from your Facebook wall before claiming it in RC?
If so, this is awesome, but otherwise… this is pointless, how will we know which gifts to ignore on the wall and which ones are new?

This is not so good…if you accept gift in rc, you can’t return gift and it will still be on facebook expired….so you still have to go into it to remove it. But if you accept gift on facebook you can still return gift and it disappears in rc game.

1) A thank-you button, to gift back, as someone already said in a comment posted earlier;
2) Notify us of the gifts we received using not only the first name of the person who sent it, but the full name. If I have 3 friends named Katie, I need to be able to know which one sent me the gift!

Love the idea but wish they would fix problem I have in just getting my friends names to appear to send gifts. So embarassing when it appears you haven’t bothered to return the favour and so annoying when it’s an integral part of the game.

I think it’s much better if you just delete facebook request. It’s useless to have two kinds of confirmation about one thing. Furthermore, it’s easier to confirm in the game than to do it via facebook request.
I also agree with Steven’s idea to add another button of “send gift back” beside “accept” & “ignore” buttons.
I hope RC game can become easier and more interesting to play. Good job!

No, BAD news. When I accepted gifts from requests, I was able to immediately gift back to the people who sent me gifts (and it made it easier for other people to gift me back, too.)
This is only good for greedy buggers who accept gifts and guiltlessly run off, but it makes it harder for those of us who actually bother to gift people back.
If you’re going to move gifts in-game, at least put a “Send gift back” feature there.

I TOTALLY agree. That’s the very first thing I noticed about accepting gifts the new way. The extra work required in making a list of who sent to you and what they sent is more than most people will bother to do. WITHOUT the “Send gift back” feature this change is not welcome at all!!!!!!!!

It may be easier, but you can’t send a thank you gift that way. I personally will be keeping track of those that will be sending me thank you gifts. For those that are too lazy to do it through facebook and send a return gift will not be getting any more gifts from me.

its been a long time since i havent been able gift anything to my friends in the game because the pop up window would never pop although i trieed in different browsers. all i could do was t send them the same gift when i accepted their gift through my requests. now, even though i accept the gifts through fb requests before i accept them in the game, they appear to have expired and i cant send anything to anyone. its time i find a solution to my in-game gifting issue.

lol, my pop up send window did the same thing. I found a trick though, if it popped even a little bit and I could click on “send personal message” then you could use the tab button to force it to show you the post button so you could click it. it worked most of the time for me.

I still prefer accepting them from the facebook requests since that option provides a button for me to send a return gift to the person who sent to me. My memory is not as good as some other people, so by the time I get in-game I forgot who gifted me. And I would hate to not send a return.

New gifting feature was cool for about one hot minute, but not well thought out at all…
the game I have played faithfully for nearly 2 years now is currently spamming me to death with gift requests in FB that don’t work…. and if that isn’t enough my public page gets filled with the crate spam, that could easily be in my mailbox or within the game, rather than splattered all over my page. I hate to give up on my game, but it’s seriously getting to that point… I can’t be the only one frustrated with this nonsense!

Hey, that sounds good, but I have one major problem…..whenever I send a gift RC doesn’t recognise it and so it doesn’t get counted. I’ve sent lots of gifts and my tally for the awards section is still at 0, will this still happen with the new system?

Kudos to the Playfish team..
I think this is an excellent feature.. thank you… it’s so much more convenient for all RC fans.. and I do agree with Juliedeva that the full name of the person sending the gift should be stated instead of just the 1st name.. coz I do have a couple of friends with the same 1st name.. and the other suggestion is maybe increase the gifting nbr to 50 or 60 per day instead of the 40 that we have at the moment.. so Playfish Team do think about it kay..

The problem with this system is that selfish people will accept gifts and one gets something stupid back like the number of mangoes I got back yesterday which I needed like a hole in my head. Many people don’t even send gifts back in the first place under the old system just greedily accept what you send them. So, WHAT’S SO GOOD ABOUT THIS NEW SYSTEM? IT SUCKS AS FAR AS I’M concerned.

To make this feature really user-friendly, a new button “Send one back to your friend” should be added on top of “Accept” and “Ignore”. Otherwise, we cannot but continue using Facebook request.
Do you know why? This is because we can RARELY retrieve the friend list in RC to send gift. So the only way to send gift is to “Send one back” immediately after receiving a gift!

Would like to see all activities stay within each game offered. Too much sifting through events involving other games that you do not participate in appearing on the home page. Although I am fairly new to this game, I enjoy it very much. Need to find a way to locate more friends/neighbors that are actively playing the game to build a better restaurant. Feel somewhat like the ‘lone ranger’ almost lost in the in the city! LOL

Not liking this new feature at all after all. Losing LOTS of gifts. NOT COOL!!! The ones that I get thru Facebook are NOT showing up in RC. I am NOT accepting them thru Facebook however, I do keep track of what I was sent and when I log on to RC, I may be lucky to see one gift there. What’s the deal?????

It’s great, thank you very much. You can return gifts by clicking the umbrella icon on the left. My problem is, my
GIFT PAGE is almost always blank. This is true with the other players on my row.
And, where is the Hawaiian shirt from GK? We can’t find it anywhere. We tried it
several times.

Thank u RC. fantastic!!! To send gifts. i click on the a fan icon on the left of the restaurant screen when my friends’ name appear, i click on all their names and send all gifts immediately. Try it – it works. Is that what you guys are talking about?
What about gifting FLOUR. No one in our row has any.

One problem. i can’t receive the gifts from GK. i would love the Hawaiian shirt and the blue Moroccan chair. We are all having the same trouble. it’s not showing anywhere.
A suggestion, why not have all the same theme items together in the inventory? it takes so long to decorate as it is.
And the layouts are sooo big. Can we start smaller.

i think the idea is great and all but could you make the in-game gift accepting an option for people? i like accepting from my requests page on facebook better because you can send that same gift back to the person at the same time which is much more convenient for myself. Unless you can make doing this an option in the game itself, please make the in-game mail an option. Thanks

Thank you for the new system in receiving gifts. It saves so much time. We play at 5:00 p.m. Why is it that we cannot return gifts until the next day in the afternoon, around 1:00 or 2:00 (Los Angeles, Ca.) time.
Also, can u put in a good word for gifting flour and we need sugar, again…. thank you so much for a terrific game. With all t/glitches and things, we love t/game!!!!

click RC friends and their names appear and i send them gifts.
i’m not sure what everyone’s complaining about, that they can’t return gifts.
Did you guys try to click the box with the wine glass on the left of the screen, all the names appear and you send friends gifts. It takes less than a minute….
i hope this helps you. Or are you talking about something else…

I find that when the gifts are accepted on the RC page, it DOES NOT send out the 2nd duplicate gift back to the person that sent it to you!!
If you accept it on your facebook page, it does send out the duplicate. Anyone else having this issue?

Oh! Also, I cannot send gifts again. No names appear and it just stops on the gifting page. I have to log out and start over. By reading other comments, seems this is happening to a number of people. Can you fix this?

Its faster, but should add another button for returning. And not just accept. Its very unfair to friends who actually need the ingredient.

since this week we handle crates with some new ingredients.
Hazelnut, Almond, Milk is now in that Mystery Crate !!
We have the problem that the MILK-Crates are all INVALID !!
Any idea what’s up with that problem and is PF informed about that ?

In returning gifts, there’s a feature on the left that looks like a present, a gift,
which if you click on it, all your friend’s names appear. You click on the names and return gifts. Do you have that feature? Good luck.

Can anyone tell me how many gifts we are allowed to claim each day. I find I often cannot claim all my returned crates. I unlock them then get told I am at my limit. This means I also cant claim “open” gifts on home page or I risk losing ingredients

Sandy, if you play through facebook, your limit is 50 gifts to send.
RC has a really low limit on how many Gourmet King posts you can click on – I think it’s about 15 or so.
I don’t have enough neighbors to get to the point of being at the limit on crates but if you have more than 50, maybe facebook is stopping you.

Only problem my friends and I are having is that it’s not giving us all the gifts we’re being sent. I have been sending things to people who are not getting them at all – no notices or anything – and same for the things they send me. This isn’t fair.
That was the only way to know what gifts our friends want – they would send what they needed so we could return it right away.
Are we supposed to sit at the computer with a list and write down who sent which ingredient and then have to go into the game and send each one individually?
That makes no sense.
