Hope you enjoyed cooking with the Vikings…  They sure did have big appetites!

This week we’ll be moving full steam ahead as we enter the Steam Pop era!

Oh no…what’s this? It appears there’s a villain in town. Let’s hope the Steam Pop Heroine can catch him before he leaves! Help her out by Mastering new recipes that will be sure to lure him to your restaurant.

Now, word has it that the villain is very picky about where he dines… You’ll have to give your restaurant the industrial touch of this era while keeping it sophisticated with classic Victorian décor.  Remember, NEW ITEMS will be available for you this Thursday!

But there’s lots to do already – like updating your menu and completing FUN new challenges!

Brrrr – Winter is here in Restaurant City and we’re starting to see some very odd things happening! The holidays are looking a little more like Halloween and I’m pretty sure I saw a skeleton reindeer earlier…! :-O

As you know, over the month of November we ran a competition to find our Restaurant of the Year for 5 special categories. Did you see some of the really great entries we had?

I watched the entries fly in and was super excited to see such amazing designs. It wasn’t easy picking the shortlist, cooks!

Once the shortlist went up, we let YOU, loyal Restaurant City fans, choose the winners! And here’s the results!

BEST ADVENTUROUS RESTAURANT 

1st Place – Knalltute – Shadowland

Knalltute says: “Halloween itself inspires me every year, I like the spooky atmosphere a lot. [I've been playing] since autumn 2009 [and I will] donate some [of the cooking cash] to designing contests in our great RC forum and spend some for beautiful decorative items.”

BEST REALISTIC RESTAURANT
1st Place – Pyrographer – The Pepper Mill

Pyrographer says: “My design was inspired by the Pizzeria (it’s so cute) and the Venetian deco items (they are so beautiful).  I’m also inspired by the design competition we hold in the Forum Gallery. I have played Restaurant city since August of 2009 and I love it!!! [I'm also] the organizer for the Restaurant of the Month competition in the Forum Gallery for the month of December, so I will probably [my cooking cash] for prizes. “

BEST ROMANTIC RESTAURANT
1st Place – Scouse Thumper – Breeze Hotel

Scouse Thumper says: “My design was insipeed by the idea of a romantic hotel for adults. I have been playing for around 2-3 years and im not sure what I will spend my cooking cash on, hopefully some great Christmas items.”

BEST MESSAGE IN A RESTAURANT
1st Place – Vcshox – Seashore Castle

This entry won by public vote and I think it’s a really beautiful little design. In their submission, Vcshox said: “I heard a lot [of stories] about prince and princess in my childhood, I always dreaming on live in castle . . . But when I tripped to Germany, I saw many real castle close to Seine river . . . I love bird’s sounds [it] make[s] me feel peaceful.”

BEST NATIONAL RESTAURANT
1st Place – Willrox – Greek Getaway

Willrox said: “I saw the competition on the [Restaurant City] forum, and even though I don’t do many designs decided to give it a shot. I had always loved the Greek theme, ever since it had come out, and also loved the idea of a little cafe, so I decided to combine the two into one and see how it went. Surprisingly, I received really positive feedback and I was really pleased I’ve been playing since 2009, but I’ve been on and off. Stopped for around year, but came back at around the time of the Karaoke Bar, which was also around the same time at which I joined the forums. Have met lots of wonderful friends that I would never have had the experience to meet if it weren’t for the forums; I’m really glad I joined! 100 Cooking Cash… WOW! It will be divided, definitely some of it will go towards contests on the forum, some will go to people that I know, who can’t afford cooking cash items, and some might join my personal collection “

Hi Cooks!

It’s time for a new theme and this week Pirates have landed from far, far away in Restaurant City! They look very hungry indeed – do you suppose they’ll like the new recipes I have planned for them?

Thankfully we have lots of Pirate themed recipes to put on our menus this week! Maybe these will keep them happy! Also, keep an eye out for the Sunday Special recipe which will only be out for 24hrs on Sunday!

This week’s functional items are very much in theme! The Hidden Treasure is definitely what I’ve got my eyes on… do you think you could get it, too?

If a challenge is what you want then a challenge is what you’ll get! If you can get your hands on these little guys – which one would be your first mate?

But there’s so many other items coming out this week! Feast your eyes on these and I’ll see you on Thursday when they’re all out for us to play with!
